Between five and 15 people were killed and more than 160 were hurt in a fertilizer factory blast in the U.S. state of Texas on Wednesday, local police said Thursday.

The explosion happened around 7:50 p.m. local time (0050 GMT Thursday) at a fertilizer plant in West, a small town 320 kilometers north of Houston.
