Visiting European union   (EU) High Representative for foreign affairs Federica Mogherini on Wednesday said the 28-member block stands ready to take partnership with Ukraine to a "new level".

"Now it is time for Ukraine and the EU to move to the new level of our relations, a level that will bring concrete results," Mogherini told reporters during a media briefing.

Mogherini voiced the EU's support for Ukraine in carrying out reforms, saying that the 28-member block will provide financial and expert assistance in the reform process.

Brussels also attaches great importance to resolving conflict in Ukraine's eastern regions, Mogherini said, emphasizing that the EU is ready to assist Kiev in achieving peace through implementation of Minsk ceasefire agreements.

"The EU still firmly and strongly supports the Ukrainian people and promotes the process initiated in Minsk," Mogherini said.

Mogherini arrived in Kiev on Tuesday for a two-day working visit to hold talks with the Ukrainian authorities over the ongoing crisis in the East European country.
