Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!

Welcome to the English Star Contest.

There are 12 contestants attending tonight’s talent competition, and they are the most outstanding students of our college. I believe you can enjoy their excellent performance tonight, and best wishes to all contestants.

We have held the first English Star Contest successfully the year before last. It was a whole success that our students showed their English talent and did a wonderful performance to us. Actually, I would like regard it as a performance rather than a contest because all of our constants were so wonderful. Due to some objective reasons, it was canceled last year. And this year, tonight, I am very happy that this competition comes back to us again. By holding this competition, we can provide students a self-show stage which is full of vitality and passion, making English activities much more participatory. What’s worth congratulating is that most of the students who joined the competition have achieved outstanding results, and, all the students are able to appreciate the great charm of English, so that stimulate their enthusiasm for English learning. I hope and believe that our students can improve their English greatly by attending this English competition.

女士們，先生們，大家晚上好。歡迎來到“英語之星”才藝大賽的現場。

今晚，一共有12位選手參加才藝大賽，他們都是我們學校最為出色的學生，我相信你們能欣賞到他們的精彩表現，祝所有選手都有好的發(fā)揮。

前年，我們成功舉辦了第一屆“英語之星”才藝大賽，同學們的精彩表現使得比賽獲得了巨大的成功。由于客觀原因，去年該取消，而今年，就在今天晚上，我很高興地宣布這個比賽又到來了。通過舉辦這個比賽，我們?yōu)閷W生提供了一個展示自身活力和激情的舞臺，也使得英語活動更豐富了。值得慶祝的是，參加這個比賽的學生目前為止都取得了很好的成績，我們所有的同學也能體驗到英語的巨大魅力，因而激發(fā)了學習英語的熱忱。我希望并且相信我們的同學能通過參加這樣的比賽獲得很大的進步。
