SCENE② B  四個半月后  瑪莉巧遇戴夫 

【他們心悅誠服嗎？】

Mary:  That's right. And I'm going to be Vice President of Marketing.

瑪莉：         沒錯。而我將會是行銷部的副總裁。

Dave:          1) Way to go, Mary. A lot has happened during the last few months, hasn't it?

戴夫：         有一套，瑪莉。過去幾個月還真發(fā)生了不少事，對吧？

Mary:          2) You can say that again!

瑪莉：         我完全同意！

Dave:  What's up with Vince and Elvin?

戴夫：         文斯跟艾文怎么樣？

Mary:  They work for Zina now.

瑪莉：         他們現(xiàn)在是吉娜的手下。

Dave:  And they're happy with that?

戴夫：         那他們心悅誠服嗎？

Mary:          3) They're in awe of her. After they saw how she crushed WebTracker...but I guess you know all about that.

瑪莉：         他們很敬畏她。在他們目睹她如何搞垮“網(wǎng)路搜尋家”之后......但我想那你全都知道。

語言詳解:

A: That's a classy car!

   那臺車真棒！

B: Yeah, it belongs to the president.

   是啊，那臺車是總載的。

【W(wǎng)hat's up with...?……是怎么了？】

這個句型可以用來詢問人的狀況，通常是你發(fā)現(xiàn)對方有啥不對勁的時候。

A: What's up with him?

     他是怎么回事？

B: He and his girlfriend just split up.

     他跟女朋友剛分手。

你也可以用這個句型來問事物。

A: What's up with the new air conditioner?

     這臺新冷氣機(jī)是怎么回事？

B: The other one broke, so I went and bought this one.

     另一臺壞掉了，所以我去買了這臺新的。

1) Way to go. “有一套。”這句短語是用來稱贊他人的表現(xiàn)。

2) You can say that again. 我再同意不過了。這句話是用來表達(dá)對他人說的話心有戚戚焉。

3) be in awe of...  對……心存敬畏
