Dave:  Welcome to InfoKing. I'm Dave. Looks like you've 1) inherited Bob's 2) cubicle.

戴夫：  歡迎來(lái)到資訊王。我是戴夫。看來(lái)你已經(jīng)接管了鮑伯的辦公室隔間。

Zina:  I'm Zina Romero. Sales. Who was Bob? 

吉娜：  我是吉娜蘿美洛。業(yè)務(wù)員。誰(shuí)是鮑伯？

Dave:  Bob was a totally 3) studly 4) programmer.

戴夫：  鮑伯是個(gè)徹頭徹尾的壯男程序設(shè)計(jì)師。

Zina:  Studly?

Dave:  You know. Big brain.

Dave:  The pressure got to him. Plus he wanted to get paid.

語(yǔ)言詳解

A: Sitting in a cubicle all day.

  整天坐在隔間里。

B: What do you hate most about working in an office?

  你最恨在辦公室工作的哪一點(diǎn)。

【get to 影響，左右】

get to在對(duì)話(huà)中是指“影響，左右”，多半是指負(fù)面的情況：

A:The pressure has been really getting to me lately.

    我最近真的被壓力壓得喘不過(guò)氣來(lái)。

B:Maybe you should take a vacation.

    或許你該去度個(gè)假。

get to的另一個(gè)常見(jiàn)用法是“抵達(dá)”，這個(gè)短語(yǔ)在問(wèn)路時(shí)很好用，相信大家也都不陌生：

A:How can I get to the train station?

    我要怎么才能到火車(chē)站？

B:It's around the corner and to the left.

    它就在轉(zhuǎn)角那邊靠左側(cè)。

get to還有一個(gè)常見(jiàn)用法，意思是“得以，才能夠”：

A:How did you get to be a politician?

    你是如何才得以當(dāng)政治人物的？

B:Many years of hard work.

    多年的苦功。

1) inherit  (v.) 繼承

2) cubicle  (n.) （辦公室）隔間

3) studly  健壯帥氣的，“猛男”是stud。

4) programmer (n.) 程序設(shè)計(jì)師

5) tack (v.) （用大頭針）釘上
