SCENE③ B  吉娜到了自己的隔間

Zina:  He's going to change his mind. The 1) reinforcements will be here first thing tomorrow.

吉娜：         他會改變主意的。救火隊明天一大早就會來。

Dave:  Are you serious? How? How did you 2) manage that?

戴夫：         你是認真的嗎？怎么？你是怎么辦到的？

Zina:           I worked a little deal with Vikam.

吉娜：         我跟“維康”做了點小交易。

Dave:  The 3) venture capitalists? When have you had time to talk to them?

戴夫：         投資方？你哪來的時間跟他們說？

Zina:  We had breakfast this morning.

吉娜：         我們今天吃了早飯。

Dave:  Geez. Does Vince know about this?

戴夫：         天啊。文斯知道這檔事嗎？

語言詳解

A: Why do you look so serious?

    你怎么一副正經八百的樣子？

B: I'm thinking! Don't bother me!

    我在想事情！別煩我！

【first thing tomorrow 明天趕辦】

當他人有事情交代的時候，為了表明自己不會拖延，會盡速辦理，你就可以用上這句短語first thing tomorrow，好讓對方安心。當然由于事情的輕重緩急有所不同，趕辦的時間也可以視情況而代換，好比first thing in the morning“一早趕辦”，first thing Monday“周一趕辦”等等。

A: When are you going to start working on this project?

     你何時會開始進行這個計劃？

B: I'll get to it first thing tomorrow.

     我趕明天就馬上進行。

A: Let's send a fax to our Hong Kong office first thing Monday.

     讓我們在星期一盡速發(fā)一份傳真給我們香港辦事處。

B: I'll surely do that.

     我一定照辦。
